PostHeaderIcon Welcome to Historic Canal Dover Association

Thank you for your interest in the Historic Canal Dover Association (HCDA).  We were founded with the vision to improve the community of Dover as a whole, beginning in the downtown area.  Our membership has grown as well as our thoughts about where Dover needs to grow and take advantage of future opportunities.

We participate in any and all activities in Dover including Canal Days, Downtown Dover Car Show with Kustom Kemps of Ohio, Tuscarawas County Italian-American Festival, Lions Halloween Parade, Sidewalk Sales, and the Dover Christmas Parade.  We conduct Red Carpet Events which help welcome businesses to the Dover area.  We were one of the organizations responsible for building the information kiosks on the square, clearing the canal towpath between Wooster and Tuscarawas Avenues, built a replica of the Canal Dover Toll House on Front Street, and we are involved with forming the hiking and biking trails along the canal towpath.  We are planning to repaint the ghost signs in the downtown area and rehabbing and creating green space in the downtown area.  Accomplishing these HCDA projects will improve and beautify the City of Dover, enticing businesses and tourism to thrive.

We are a 501c3 organization capable of accepting donations that not only benefit HDCA but you by way of a tax deduction.  We have many levels of membership.  Please click on the Organization tab for more membership information.  Without your support, the HCDA would not be able to continue these projects.   With help from dedicated civic-minded individuals like you, Dover will continue to be a vibrant community.  We hope you can join the HCDA and help make Dover a strong community and business district.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Robert A. Mueller

President of HCDA
