January 1st, 2011 Meeting Minutes
HISTORIC CANAL DOVER ASSOCIATION
JANUARY 20, 2011 MEETING
The January meeting of HCDA was held on January 20, 2011 at 6:00 on a very snowy night at the Comfort Inn Dover.
The following members were present: Robert Mueller, Al Little, Tod Carper, Larry Kellicker, and Joyce Espenschied.
The previous meeting minutes were read and approved by Al Little, seconded by Larry Kellicker.
The treasure’s report was read and approved by Tod Carper, seconded by Larry Kellicker.
Tod reported that “Rock the Prom” event will be held at the Galleria on February 10, 2011 at 7:00. It will be a style show featuring prom attire with hair fashions and make-up.
Russ Volkert sent information that the fence will be finished on Front Street now that the Tuscarawas Avenue Bridge is complete.
Mary Fox is working on a letter and e-mail addresses for the membership campaign. The members discussed the membership levels which will be $25.00 for individual, $75.00 for non-profit groups, $100.00 for businesses, $250.00 for businesses that want to use the hot dog cart, and $1,000 being the highest and eligible to get their name on a sponsorship banner such as the car show or other event.
The members agreed that the garage sale was a success last year and we will plan another one. Al would like to meet with committee as soon as possible to get organized.
Al Little reminded everyone that The Taste of Tuscarawas, sponsored by the Ohio Erie Canal Coalition will be held Friday, March 11, 2011 at Warthers Museum from 6 to 9. The cost is $25.00/$35.00. Members decided to donate $100.00 towards the event.
A Red Carpet event will be held in the future. It was noted that many new businesses are in town and we want to encourage them to join HCDA.
The meeting was adjourned by Tod Carper, seconded by Larry Kellicker.
